San Juan Bautista Parish was built by Decree No. 6 of July 11th, 1960. Its  first parish priest was the Father Juan Micheli, a missionary of the order "Consolata". The first stone was blessed in 1961 by Monsignor Angel Cuniberti and was consecrated to San Juan Bautista (Saint Jhon). Most of the people from this place are catholic.

The patron saint festivities are celebrated every 24th of July. San Juan Bautista Parish looks after people from thirteen neighborhoods and fifty six villages. The prayer centers exist in towns like Berlin, LIbertad, Puerto Manrique and Maguaré. In this parish, nine lays, twenty one catechists and five priest serve there. There are other religions like the Seventh-day Adventist, and the Pentecostal and Evangelical.
